America, after decades of “Big Government is Bad” ideology and propaganda, has become a country that only weakly helps its population compared to other modernized democracies.

America is literally an international loser if you to were to rank modern democratic nations according to how well they promote the well-being of their citizens. We invented “promoting the general welfare of we the people” (See the Constitution, first part) so why are we so shitty at doing it?

It darkly blankets my mental landscape, like a fog of burning ash.

In the water I escape the scalding air, but the undertow sucks me down, the undercurrent of despair that always runs under these waters. It sucks me down into deep, cold, lightless nothingness.

Sometimes it feels like I’m swimming in quicksand — every action an exhausting struggle, even talking.

Some days are heavy like that. Some days are flat and numb and neutral.

And then there are those rare days when I’m gliding on updrafts and thermals, flowing easily through the world, the air clear and light around me.

And I think to myself

I forgot I could feel this way.

More people = more consumers buying products and paying rent — > more profit for businesses and property owners. More sales = more sales tax to fund local government and infrastructure. More sales —> more production/service transactions —> more jobs created to cover extra business activity —> Newly-employed people will spend their wages into the economy —> again more sales, more profit, more sales tax and income tax to fund state and federal government —> helps balance budget. WHY DO PEOPLE THINK IMMIGRATION IS BAD FOR THE ECONOMY?

😑 It’s so weird that there are actually people out there who think this election was rigged against Donald Trump (who is a great guy.) ??????? I mean, come on. Have some common sense, people!

That just blows my mind.

It’s the same feeling I had when I found out…
